Ahead of the 2025 Australian Open, Morgan chatted with Harper’s Bazaar about her experience supporting Fritz through his 2024 US Open journey. She said, “He won his semi-final match in New York last year and became the first American man in 18 years to advance to the finals of the US Open.” Not just that, but if he were to win, Fritz would be the first American player in 21 years to capture a Grand Slam title. However, that moment didn’t come.

She added, “I’ll never forget that moment — mostly because he was super emotional.” To recap, Fritz made history by becoming the first American man to reach a Grand Slam final since Andy Roddick in 2003, and he did it on home soil at the US Open. Unfortunately, he faced world No.1 Jannik Sinner in the final and lost in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. After the match, Fritz expressed disappointment, feeling like he “let a lot of people down” as he aimed to end the 21-year drought for American men in Grand Slam titles.

Though Fritz didn’t clinch the US Open title, he finished the year ranked World No. 4 and made it to the ATP Finals in Turin. Could Morgan’s presence be a factor? According to Fritz, it definitely is!

In November 2024, Taylor Fritz shared with CNN Sport just how much his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, has impacted his success. They started dating in 2020, and while Morgan knew almost nothing about tennis back then, she’s now a major social media influencer in the sport. Fritz appreciates her support, saying, “I think it’s great to just kind of have someone who is with you, supporting you, helping keep you focused.” He added that Morgan has done an amazing job understanding his life as a pro athlete.

“As someone who had nothing to do with tennis before, in Morgan’s case, she’s done an amazing job over the years just kind of understanding. She gets it, and she also understands what it takes each week and throughout the year to help me play my best tennis and feel my best. I think that’s a big thing – I just kind of have someone helping me at all times,” Fritz remarked.

This support continued into 2025, as Morgan was right there cheering for Fritz when he kicked off the new season at the United Cup in Perth, especially when Team USA claimed the title after a thrilling final against Poland.
