Currently, the World No. 40 is receiving severe backlash for his behavior on the court. However, the young Danish sensation has finally opened up with his side of the story.

Holger Rune defends his on-court behavior

The teenager revealed that he wasn’t impressed with Ruud shouting at his face in the locker room. He was also disappointed by the Norwegian talking to him during the match and complaining about his mark check.

“I did not want to give him a hug after. He got a high five and then I just had to get away. He was so unsportsmanlike during the match and talked to me over and over again,” Rune said.

Not to mention, the 19-year-old’s erratic behavior was also on display when he shouted at his mother, following which she left the box. Holger’s mother has been very supportive of her son and fans were not at all impressed with his actions on the court.
