The Canadian tennis star, Felix Auger Aliassime, is undoubtedly one of the most promising young players in the men’s circuit as he has already established his position in the top echelons. However, things are not going well for the 22-year-old player this season given his initial round defeats at various crucial tournaments, including the Grand Slam events.
Even at the grass-court major event in London, the currently ranked world No. 12 player has been knocked out in the first round. Taking note of his poor form this season, many questions are now being raised about his coaching team which includes Rafael Nadal‘s uncle, Toni Nadal. Further, the Spanish tennis coach has also become a target of major backlash and scrutiny from fans on social media.

Despite being one of the top-seeded players in the ongoing Wimbledon Championship, the Canadian tennis star got stunned by the American tennis player, Michael Mmoh, who is currently out of the top 100 spots of the ATP rankings. In a four-set thriller, the currently ranked world No. 119 player outperformed the Auger Aliassime, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-4.
It has come as a huge surprise for the entire tennis community, as Auger Aliassime is a player who has reached the quarterfinals and semifinal rounds of such major events. Notably, the fans are quite furious about his recent form and they are further blaming his coach, Toni Nadal, for the drastic drop in his performance levels on the court. One of the Twitter users lashed out at him by saying, “Tony Nadal has completely f*cked up Auger-Aliassime”

Taking note of the same, other tennis fans stormed to the comments section in order to drop their views on the ATP player’s coaching team. Another user commented, “I think so, too. I don’t think Uncle Toni will teach Aliassime things that can make him beat Nadal. In the process, he can not even beat other players.”

Meanwhile, one of the fans brought to light the recent game strategy of the 22-year-old who has apparently become a “serve” based player. He said, “Very strange he has become such a “serve” based player, and panicking in longer rallies, reminds me of his good buddy Shapovalov at times”

Another fan criticized the strategy of the 62-year-old coach as he asserted that the Canadian is a player of high caliber. The user said, “I agree. He needs to fire him ASAP. He was in the QF and SF now he’s first round”

Others reacted in a similar way in order to criticize the Spanish coach,
Must have signed a horrible binding contract. Otherwise, it makes no sense why he's letting that man trash his potential like this. It's truly sad to see someone so talented waste it all this way.

Said it last year, many people concurred. It is game over for him.

Tony's saving grace is that he had a generational talent like Nadal to "coach"…

I don't think it's him, he is barely an advisor and for sure not one on grass… But he should think about changing something – adding someone, making cuts, adding some routines.. Such a shame because he's so talented
