Jannik Sinner might have gotten over the doping controversy already, but the critics are still not coming easy at him. The Italian star failed two dope tests at the Indian Wells Masters and tested positive for a banned substance, Clostebol. However, after providing a justification of how he came in contact with the banned substance, Sinner was let off with just a fine and ranking points’ deduction. The decision of not suspending Sinner has been criticized by quite a few in the tennis circle. Among the critics has been Nick Kyrgios, who strongly objected to the ITIA’s decision. And now the Aussie has taken a jibe at Sinner again while the Italian star enjoys an off-court outing.

Earlier today, Sinner attended the Gucci Spring 2025 Show in Milan. The show displayed a wide range of collections for men and women that spanned ready-to-wear, casual grandeur, draped, and sleeveless dresses among others. The Italian star looked dapper in an all-blue outfit with a matching blazer and pants. He opted for white Nike shoes that complemented his look perfectly. However, for some odd reason, a few fans were not happy with Sinner attending the show days after testing positive for a banned substance.

One of the fans shared glimpses of Sinner from the Milan fashion week and sarcastically said, “Let’s just pretend the failed drug tests never happened and business as usual?” Nick Kyrgios, who has been the biggest critic of Sinner of late, joined the bandwagon and hit back at Sinner again. Kyrgios commented, “Yeah of course – nothing happened bro. he is the victim.”

Amid the constant jibes from Kyrgios, Sinner hasn’t opted to escalate the tension and has rather played it down. During his US Open journey, Sinner was asked many questions about Kyrgios’ comments and not once did he say anything controversial.

Jannik Sinner on Nick Kyrgios’ criticism: ‘Everyone is free to say everything’

Earlier this month, Sinner gave a fitting response to his critics by winning the US Open title. He blanked Taylor Fritz in the summit clash to usher his domination in the men’s circuit. However, time and again, the Italian star was asked about Kyrgios taking a brutal dig at him after he was let off in his doping case.

Responding to those questions in New York, Sinner said, “I don’t know. I don’t want to respond to what he said. Everyone is free to say everything. It’s ok. If that is the case, let’s see. It’s gonna be different for sure (laughing). I don’t know what to say.”

Earlier, Kyrgios had slammed Sinner and held him responsible for his failed dope tests, saying, “I think he had it on his own terms for most of the time. I don’t think that’s fair and equal for the rest of the tours.”

But Sinner revealed that he’s relaxed and forgets things quite fast. Kyrgios’ latest jab won’t be a cause of concern for the Italian star, as he’s in no mood to escalate the tensions further.
