Back in 2017, the Serb collaborated with American tennis legend Andre Agassi. However, after over a year, the legendary duo came to the conclusion that they had differences in opinion and should part ways. Later, Agassi revealed what went wrong between them.
Why did Djokovic and Agassi split?
Both Agassi and Djokovic are tennis greats. However, their association didn’t last long. Agassi believes it is because of their difference in opinion and Djokovic needed something which the American couldn’t provide. Here’s what he said about the split, “What Novak needed was a reason to fight and care. He did not lose his game overnight. Lot of information he needed to process for a while. Me challenging him to stop working with him, to give him a reason to prove something. He went back to his roots – like Rocky – his fight. That’s what he needed,” Agassi said.
The former world number 1 further added, “He is always looking to get agitated on tennis court. I might have poked the bear little harder and little sooner.”
2018 was a tough year for Djokovic. The Serb underwent elbow surgery. Initially, he faced some problems in his comeback, but he returned in style, clinching both Wimbledon and US Open later that year.

Recently, Roger Federer brought down the curtains on one of the greatest careers in the sport. His archrivals and good friends Djokovic and Rafael Nadal were also present there as his Team Europe teammates. The overflow of emotions in Federer’s final match caught both Nadal and Djokovic off guard.
