It is no surprise that Nick Kyrgios plays his best tennis in front of the top players in the world. That is why the showman has the record of beating the big three of tennis – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic in their first tour-level meetings. But when the Swiss maestro and the Spanish beast joined forces at the Laver Cup 2019, it was too much for Kyrgios.
In the last edition of the Laver Cup, Kyrgios had a set lead against Federer in their singles bout. But in the end, he lost the match 7-6, 5-7, 7-10. So what gave the Swiss maestro the edge after the first set? The answer is Nadal.

Interestingly, the Eurosport account uploaded the video when Nadal advised Federer. Initially, the Spaniard told him how he has got a much better percentage when the rallies ended under five shots.
Nadal continued, “I know it’s difficult because this guy reads the ball so well.” For this, Federer responded that he should be patient first and then go.
“Exactly,” Nadal added. “Wait for the right one, but when you have it, you have to push because he’s not missing. Of course, you can do it.”

Seeing the video again, Kyrgios realized what had changed the match against Federer. According, he shared the video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Haha. I was a set up against Federer, and he had some decent help.”
Once again, Kyrgios will don the red jersey and represent Team World at the Laver Cup 2021. Unfortunately, neither of Federer and Nadal will not play this year due to injury.
