Carlos Alcaraz has had a hectic 2023 season. The World Number One has played in quite a lot of tournaments. Nonetheless, he has managed to continuously perform at the top level, winning tournament after tournament. Recently, he captured his first Wimbledon title after defeating Novak Djokovic in the summit clash. It was a gritty display by the Spaniard, given that grass is not his preferred surface. However, after winning the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, Alcaraz has been greeted with not-so-ideal status.
The 20-year-old is preparing to participate in the Hopman Cup. The 5-day event is underway with countries from across the globe vying for top honors in Nice, France. Despite being in top form, Alcaraz received a blow ahead of this tournament. Let’s find out what was it about.

Carlos Alcaraz on his post-Wimbledon training
The Spaniard has been on cloud-9 ever since claiming his maiden Wimbledon title. Moreover, he has appeared in several interviews for various publications. In one such interview with L’Équipe, Alcaraz gave a disappointing update to his fans. Talking about this, he said, “Honestly, I haven’t touched a racquet since Wimbledon. I will resume training today.”
Further Alcaraz also talked about how he celebrated his Wimbledon victory. He revealed, “I had to do a lot of things on Monday morning and then at home, I prefer to stay relaxed with my friends and family. You know, I’m calm, I prefer to laugh with my friends.”

The World Number 1 has found success on the hard courts earlier this season. He won the ATP 1000 Indian Wells title, defeating Daniil Medvedev in the summit clash. With the hard court season set to resume, Alcaraz will hope to replicate that form later this year.

Alcaraz at the 2023 Hopman Cup
The 20-year-old will look to shrug off his rustiness, having not trained after winning Wimbledon. He will turn up for Spain in the multi-nation tournament, where he’ll team up with World Number 66, Rebeka Masarova. Spain is placed in Group 2 alongside Belgium and Croatia.
