Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios, who has been termed ‘the bad boy’ by tennis media due to his brash and temperamental behavior, is also the most fined player in the history of tennis. Despite that, he has found yet another admirer in British actor Jason Isaacs, perhaps best known for his role as Lucious Malfoy from Harry Pottery.

Isaacs, on location for a shoot, deemed Kyrgios as the biggest villain in tennis and demanded a major change of rules while virtually featuring on a tennis show!

In Thailand to shoot season 3 of The White Lotus, Isaacs digitally features on the Tennis Channel show and christens Kyrigios as the ‘biggest villain’, “Nick Kyrgios, who was nowhere near the top ten in the world but he was the one everybody under 30 wanted to watch and why? Because he was himself on the court and aah and so I know he’s the biggest villain in tennis right now but I I hope we get to see more of it.”

While talking about what he’d like to change in tennis, Jason Isaacs says, “I personally would vote for x rated cable tennis. I’d for people to be able to swear, possibly throw things at the umpire. Uh think we should let the players, genuinely I know I am being silly but off the leash slightly and let the characters out.”

Isaacs is perhaps hinting towards the fact that it is the sporting entities that make the sport popular and while purists might not agree, a little bit of drama has always proven to send the views off the roof! Identifying another great entertainer in Daniil Medvedev, the actor says, “he’s a great character to watch!”

Nick Kyrigios at a time was indeed the main draw and was able to pull crowds to the court but the Australian has only played one match in the last 16 months, raising serious doubts about his future in the sport.

Featuring on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast last year, Kyrgios said that he doesn’t want to play tennis any longer. “If it was up to me, I don’t really want to play anymore to be honest,” he said.

Despite his lack of interest, he maintains that he will make a comeback. “I have to almost [keep playing]. I’ve got so much more to give but, for me, I don’t feel like playing anymore,” said a heartbroken Kyrgios. He adds, “I always wanted to have a family and not be in pain. When I get up, I can’t walk without pain. It’s a tough gig.”

However, Kyrgios has kept himself busy, commentating for Eurosport during the Australian Open and running his podcast titled the ‘Good Trouble’ where he has invited guests such as Gordon Ramsay and Gary Vaynerchuk.
