Andy Murray is confirmed to be playing at the Brisbane International next year. The former world number has not reached the top 16 of any major grand slam since 2019 and this raises a lot of questions about his playing abilities and also if he even enjoys the sport anymore. Owing to the same, former British tennis player Tim Henman shared how he thinks Andy Murray does not want to play anymore.

In a recent interview, he talked about how he thinks that this might be it for the tennis star and he may not continue playing after the 2024 season ends.

In a recent interview, Tim Henman talked about Andy Murray’s future in tennis. He shared that Murray is a competitive tennis player but since he has failed to make an impact in the last major tournaments he played, he feels that this might be the right time for him to retire after having a successful run this year starting from Brisbane International.

Henman said, “At the end of last year, it didn’t look like he was enjoying himself on the court. His attitude wasn’t good. At this stage of his career, you want him to be out there not only having some good results but enjoying himself. He’s not going to be playing professional tennis forever. He’s the only one who really knows that. I think for me, the wish list for Andy Murray is for him to play well and have some good wins and enjoy himself. So, yeah, fingers crossed.”

He also added that he has seen him practice a lot and give his work and time at the gym and in practice sessions. So, he does want him to get the fruit of his hard work with some rewarding results. Besides that, Henman also shared what can make Murray win more and stay more for the sport.

Henman shares his opinion on what can help Andy Murray in tennis

Last year after his performance in Paris, Andy Murray shared how he does not enjoy the sport as much anymore. That might be one of the reasons he may leave. But other reasons also include having to go through a hectic schedule in all sorts of weather conditions.

Owing to the discussion, Tim Henman added that Andy Murray has an issue due to his hip injury which even caused him to get a metal hip. So cold weather can make things difficult for him. So, if the weather was warmer and the schedule set up for him was a little kinder, he could still win and make an impact.
