Political mayhem and war were on the background of Djokovic’s childhood. However, his family ensured that Djokovic was raised in a family where his growth was not affected. His wife, Jelena Djokovic opened up about their initial years and how that affected their growth.

Serbia was a war-torn country when Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena Djokovic were born. An absolute nightmare for little children to grow into. However, their parents made a haven for them and did not let them get diverted from having a holistic childhood.

Speaking in an interview about the Novak Djokovic Foundation, accodring to Leaders, his wife opened up about how their parents played a major role. She said, “Novak and I grew up in a war-torn country in difficult circumstances.”

She added, “However, we were fortunate to grow up in families that nurtured education and understood the value of early childhood development.”

This became the irrevocable part of their foundation. Novak Djokovic Foundation focuses on the holistic child development pattern of children all over the world. The age ranges from childbirth till they are 8.

Djokovic once blasted antics over questioning his huge prize money after winning ATP Finals

The Serbian tennis legend has had quite a lot on his plate this year, starting from his vaccination status to his stance on Wimbledon banning Russian and Belarusian players. And then eventually led to some comments about his prize money if he won ATP Finals. Which he did.

The $4.7 million became a topic of discussion but Djokovic dismissed it. He attributed his victories and prize money to his hard work. He also pointed out the fact that he never took anything for granted. And this was simply because he had understood the value of every euro because of getting raised in a war-torn nation.
