Before the start of ATP Finals in Turin, there were two clear favorites – Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. Just a week before, the duo met in the finals of Paris Masters, and naturally, fans expected yet another clash between these two gentlemen at the year-end championships in Turin. But, the World No.3 Alexander Zverev had different plans.
Having lost the round-robin match against the Russian, he went on to defeat both Djokovic and Medvedev to claim his ATP World Tour Finals title.

Despite not winning a Grand Slam so far, the German enjoyed success on the ATP Tour this year, having won a mammoth six titles, including the gold medal at Tokyo Olympics. So far, Zverev has proved that he can beat top-tier players in best-of-three sets.
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler displays incredible support for Alexander Zverev
During the year-end championships in Turin, Zverev was not only cheered by Italian fans but also by NBA star, Jimmy Butler. The Miami Heat player was seen watching the semi-final match between Zverev and Djokovic during a practice session ahead of the contest against Washington Wizards.

As Sascha Zverev went on to claim his second World Tour Finals title on Sunday by defeating Medvedev in two sets, Butler could be seen getting pumped up and cheering for the German all along.

“Break him early. I got to go workout anyway, so”, told the NBA star. During the post-match presentation, Jimmy Butler showed his excitement and support towards the German by saying, “Shake his hand. Grab your big a** trophy. Raise that shit up. Kiss it”.
Clearly, the American is a huge fan of Alexander Zverev. During this year’s US Open, Butler was also seen in his the German’s private box. The bonding began when Zverev proclaimed himself as a huge ‘Miami Heat’ fan right from his childhood.

The victory at the ATP Finals 2021 might provide the spark for Zverev to take home the trophy at the Australian Open next year.
