Earlier, Kyrgios posted a story on his official Instagram account, where he provided a message regarding his participation at this year’s Laver Cup. He wrote, “No Laver Cup for me this year!!! Just letting you all know? Gotta have that home time with my family and beautiful girlfriend.?“
Notably, Kyrgios was an integral part of the Team World for the past four editions of the Laver Cup. Since its inception in 2017, Kyrgios played a total of 9 matches; 5 singles matches and 4 doubles matches. Moreover, he has a 3-1 record in the doubles matches, earning 5 points in total. However, he did not have a great record in the singles matches.
Despite a poor record in the singles, he has always brought the entertainment factor with his unique game style. Now, in 2022, he will miss the Laver Cup, as he decided to spend time with his family and his girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi.
