The debate between Nick Kyrgios and the famous tennis coach Boris Becker has been making its space into the tennis highlights. Regarded as a controversial magnet in the tennis world, Kyrgios made a statement drawing a comparison between different generations of tennis players. As Becker came forward to present his disagreement with the statement, the debate caught ignition.

Although Holger Rune’s coach tried to turn the heat down on Twitter by wishing the Aussie a speedy recovery, it seemed like he wasn’t done with it until then. After the debate froze down on Twitter, Kyrgios used an Instagram story to poke the German coach again. While everyone kept waiting for the coach to reply, he recently used a podcast as a medium to convey his response.

The debate between Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker seemed to be at a halt until Becker recently gave a reality check to the Aussie. In a recent conversation with Eurosport, Boris Becker talked about the evolution of tennis through all these years to make Kyrgios realize the contributions of past legends. “This is due to the legends of the past,” he mentioned, highlighting the crucial role of players like Stefan Edberg, Mats Wilander, Andre Agassi, and Pete Sampras in making the sport what it is today.

Becker, who himself has been a three-time Wimbledon champion, also mentioned the evident change in prize money over the years. “I got £300,000 for my first Wimbledon title. The winner of Wimbledon 2024 gets three million,” he pointed out, intending to back his statement with numbers. Coming to Kyrgios’s controversial year and seemingly lost interest in the game, Becker also served him a bitter reality check.

Before coming such a long way in the controversy with Nick Kyrgios, Boris Becker made an attempt to calm the heat down by writing an appreciation and regardful comment. While the tennis legend decided to travel a straight road of being wise enough to not reflect the rage that Kyrgios presented, fans appreciated his attempt to end the debate.

However, since the Aussie, being himself, didn’t put an end to his insulting comments over the German tennis legend’s personal life events, Becker decided to teach him a lesson along with making sure to not step out of his cool. While Rune’s coach positively urged the Aussie to pay respect to the tennis legend, it still remains to be seen how he takes it and reacts this time.
