Andrey Rublev has one of the most passionate fan following among the current generation stars. The reason — his enthusiastic playing style and his funny anecdotes that tennis fans adore. And for them, the Shanghai Masters had a unique Rublev moment. While the tournament has just begun, the Russian tennis player has already started showing off his goofy side on the tennis court. Recently, after winning his second-round match, the goofy ATP star made an apology in the most unexpected manner.

Although the 25-year-old did nothing wrong during the third-round match, what he said to his opponent after the end was something that nobody expected.

The 7th-ranked Russian tennis player defeated Adrian Mannarino, the 35-year-old French tennis player, in the third round of the tournament. While the match was quite interesting, there was one more thing that grabbed a lot of attention and made every tennis fan laugh out loud. A few moments after the incident, the Tennis TV’s official Twitter account published a video of the post-match handshake. He also congratulated the 35-year-old French tennis star for defeating Sebastian Korda at the Astana Open finals.

During the handshake, Rublev said, “Sorry man, I played unreal today.” 

In that video, it was quite visible that the game ended in a happy mood. Apart from that, this is not the first time the 7th-ranked tennis player has not been able to keep a straight face. Just a day ago, Rublev was involved in a funny episode when he faced an unexpected Linkin Park question.

When Rublev displayed his goofy self to answer a Linkin Park question

Just a few days before, Rublev was asked during a post match interview about the special gift he received from a fan. After winning the first round of the tournament, he received a lot of gifts from his fans. Among those was a CD from the Linkin Park album. Talking about the same, he said, “You know, to look in the bags of other guys is not nice. I like Linkin Park, that’s why.”

While he gave a very candid answer, at the same time, he was not able to keep a straight face while answering this question. Subsequently, he also highlighted how he has received plush toys and other memorable items from his fans.
