It was the day of the finale at the French Open 2021 and fans witnessed a classic encounter there. World No.1 Novak Djokovic made an incredible comeback against World No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas and won his 19th Grand Slam title at the French Open 2021. The final scoreline of the match was 6(7)-7(9), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

With his win, Novak Djokovic became the first player to win every Grand Slam title at least twice in the Open Era. Interestingly, it is for the 32nd time that he has won a five-set marathon at a Grand Slam- the most by any player.

In the post-match interview. Djokovic lauded Stefanos Tsitsipas for his incredible performance in the finals of the French Open 2021. He believes that the Greek player will learn from his defeat and will come back stronger next year.

‘These are the kinds of occasions that you learn from the most, & knowing him & his team he’s going to come out much stronger from this match today,” said Djokovic in the interview.

It is surely a proud moment for Tsitsipas. Even though he lost the encounter, he fought like a warrior and definitely impressed his fans.

Djokovic predicted that Tsitsipas is going to win many Grand Slam titles in the future. He certainly feels that the Greek star has immense potential and can earn a big name in the sport one day.

It was Tsitsipas’ first-ever Grand Slam final and he should be proud of the way he played against Nole. At 22, he still has a long career in front of him and can win many titles on tour.

The French Open 2021 glory puts Novak Djokovic just one major behind Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. He can equalize the feat at Wimbledon Championships 2021 and might even surpass them at the end of the year. Will Djokovic be able to end his career with the most number of Grand Slam titles?
