Recently, Alexander Zverev led Germany to beat Brazil in the first-round qualifiers of the Davis Cup. Held at the Parque Olímpico Arena Tenis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the two played each other on 4th and 5th March, with Germany coming out victorious with a 3-1 score. The whole German team celebrated the victory. However, it was Zverev’s girlfriend who seemed to be the most excited seeing the results.

Yesterday, 6th March, Alexander Zverev’s girlfriend Sophia Thomalla took to her Instagram, putting up a post. Even though it looked like any other couple spending some quality time with each other, it was the caption of the post that caught everyone’s eye.

Thomalla posted multiple photos of her with Zverev in the post. Where on one side Zverev opted to go shirtless for the photos, on the other side, Sophia opted for a white top. The couple seemed to have a good time with each other, as the two posed for selfies on the side of a tennis court.

Fans showered immense love and blessings for the couple. However, in this fairytale, what came out as the bright shining light was the caption of the post. In the caption, the actor and model, Thomalla, taunted the Brazilian team. She went on to compare the Davis Cup results with football results. The part of the caption read, “Brazil, it was an honor, but Germany kicked your ass again.”

Through the caption, she also gave an update on Zverev’s schedule as she wrote, “Adeus! Next stop: Indian Wells.”

Sophia Thomalla is a German actress and Model. Zverev started dating Sophia in mid-2021. Even though she is 8 years older than Zverev, the two share a loving bond and have often been spotted expressing love for each other in person and through their social media handles.

Germany and Brazil played each on the outdoor clay courts of Brazil. The first singles match featured Alexander Zverev taking on Thiago Seyboth Wild. Even though the Brazilian played some heavy shots, he failed to withstand the roaring game of Zverev; he went down 6-4,6-2 in just 1 hour and 34 mins. Zverev’s win gave Germany a 1-0 lead.

In the second singles, Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff took on Brazilian Thiago Monteiro. Even though Struff gave a decent fight to Thiago, it was Brazil who took the match, leveling the tie to 1-1. Both teams with one win each, it was now time for the doubles. In the doubles, the German pair of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz stunned the Brazilian pair of Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves and Bruno Soares in three sets, giving Germany a 2-1 lead.

Not willing to go any further, Alexander Zverev closed the tie by beating Thiago Monteiro in straight sets, giving Germany a 3-1 lead.
