Following his US Open stint, the 25-year-old decided to make a fashion statement. Fritz made a glamorous appearance at the Hermes runway show, walking the ramp for their winter collection.

However, days after the grand event, the World Number 8 opened up about a scary thought involving his compatriot, Frances Tiafoe. Like Fritz, Tiafoe is a fashion icon on and off the court and has attended fashion events across the globe. Last year, Fritz trolled Tiafoe for attending one such event. As a result, Fritz feels it is his chance to get trolled now.

Following his New York stint where he participated in the US Open and the Hermes runway show, Fritz traveled for the Laver Cup in Vancouver, where he stopped by for a brief interview. During that talk, he revealed why he might face trolls for his fashion walk.

Fritz was asked whether other team members would get intimidated by him being an international runway model. Responding to this question, Fritz said, “I feel like I might get made fun of, to be honest, but we’ll see. I think last year I gave Frances a lot of sh*t for doing the whole Fashion Week thing, and I think I’m going to get it back in return this year.”

Although they are strong rivals on the court, Fritz and Tiafoe are good friends off the court. They’ll be seen in action at the Laver Cup, playing for Team World. There’s a high chance that the two might play doubles together at the event.

Meanwhile, Fritz’s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle had wholeheartedly backed the tennis star during his fashion walk. As Fritz walked the ramp, he fulfilled his girlfriend’s wish.

She posted a series of Instagram stories, showing Fritz’s outfit. In one such story, she wrote, “My lil runway model,” while sharing their adorable picture together.

After trying his hand in fashion, Fritz will look to shift his focus back to tennis quickly as he aims to get his campaign back on track. He’ll make an appearance at the Laver Cup as a key player for Team World as they aim to defend their title in Vancouver, Canada.
