Laver Cup one of the most entertaining events of the year?
The Laver Cup began in 2017. Named after one of the greats of the sport, ‘rocket’ Rod Laver, the tournament sees the top-ranked players of the world battling it out. Stars are separated based on continent and divided into Team Europe and World accordingly. So far, Team Europe mentored by Bjorn Borg has sealed the trophy on all three occasions.

Swiss maestro Roger Federer is one of the main attractions of the event, having featured in all three editions thus far. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Dominic Thiem are some of the other stars on Europe’s side.
For Team World, Australian Nick Kyrgios has spearheaded the attack. He has been aided by doubles specialist Jack Sock, the powerful John Isner, and Canadian southpaw Denis Shapovalov. Despite coming up short, Team World has given Borg’s side a run for their money in every edition. And 2021 will be no different.
