Former World Number 1, Andy Murray, hasn’t had the best of times of late. Following his victory in the grass courts in Nottingham, Murray has had an inconsistent run of form that has resulted in disappointing losses. As a result, he has failed to reach even the quarterfinals in the tournaments played since then. Recently, he suffered another disappointing defeat to which Murray had a shocking reaction.
The three-time Grand Slam champion is in Paris where he’s participating at the Paris Masters. However, his run at the tournament came to an early end after facing defeat against a familiar foe, Alex de Minaur. Here’s what Murray did after the match.

The Briton was engrossed in a close battle against de Minaur in the first round of the ATP 1000 Paris Masters. The match went right to the distance as the Australian held his nerves to get past Murray. The latter was clearly not happy after the match, having come close to defeating his rival.
On the match point against him, Andy Murray made a simple forehand unforced error to hand de Minaur the win. Subsequently, the former World Number 1 gave a huge cry in frustration and smashed his racket hard onto the court to break it.
Murray then proceeded to shake hands with de Minaur and the chair umpire. The frustration still hadn’t cooled off as he smashed the racket hard a second time and left it in a sorry state. Following the incident, the video of it did rounds on social media and many fans commented on it.

This is not Murray’s first loss against his Australian opponent. His poor record against de Minaur added to the frustration. The unbelievable head-to-head lead that de Minaur enjoys over Murray must have surely made a difference in this game too.

Andy Murray’s poor record against de Minaur continues
Andy Murray and de Minaur have been involved in some intriguing contests. Although their matches have been close, with some going right to the distance, it is always de Minaur who has come out on top.
In the six matches between them, Murray has gone on to lose all the matches. As a result, this record would have played in the back of his mind after losing a close battle against de Minaur in Paris.
