During his first-round match against Luca Van Assche of France, Schwartzman served aggressively on one occasion that looked out to the umpire as he made the call. However, the Argentinian decided to challenge the call, and it was shown that the ball had touched the line. Subsequently, the umpire asked for the point to be replayed.
The 31-year-old didn’t approve of the umpire’s decision, and exclaimed, “No, no, no it wasn’t, no. It’s 170 KMPH, it’s on the line how is it possible he’s going to make the return?” Further, Schwartzman went on to reveal that he faced the exact same situation in Acapulco too and he believed the same umpire was involved. However, the umpire hit back at Schwartzman, saying, “I’ve never been to Acapulco. I’ve never been there”
