It has been an interesting time for the former World Number 1 player, Daniil Medvedev. While he is aiming to go a step further this year and win his maiden Australian Open title, the Russian star had a major update about his personal life. Medvedev’s wife, Daria gave birth to the couple’s second child just days before the Australian Open. Elated with the news, Medvedev’s wife had one of the most amazing ways to update fans about it.

On the birth of her second child, Daria Medvedeva took to Instagram and shared an adorable pregnancy photoshoot with her elder daughter. While she sported a green dress, her elder daughter, Alisa wore a pink frock. In the first image, Medvedeva could be seen holding Alisa in her arms while kissing her. It was a heart-melting glimpse as fans adored the cuteness of the two. In another picture, Alisa pointed to the baby bump of her mother while being held in her arms. “Girls power 06.01.2025,” Medvedeva captioned the post as she announced the arrival of her second child.

Talking about her adorable antics once, Medvedev said, “If something doesn’t go her way, then she throws a toy in anger or bites it. My wife is looking at me saying, ‘Okay, where does it come from?’ And that’s pretty funny because you start asking yourself if it’s just pure genetics and I don’t have an answer to this question!”

Medvedev mentioned, “I feel great, very happy. You’re on the circuit, one day your second child is born, and the next day, you’re on a 24-hour flight to Australia. But it’s fine, I’ve always said that I like tennis and I like to travel. I feel great before the start of the season. The preparation has been fantastic. I think it has been one of my best pre-seasons. I had plenty of time; we’ve had five weeks. Last year I did the same, no tournaments.”

Last year, Medvedev lost out to Jannik Sinner in the summit clash of the Australian Open. However, he’ll look to go a step further this time around and clinch his maiden Grand Slam title Down Under. The Russian star opens his campaign against Kasidit Samrej on Monday. Are you backing him to go all the way and win the trophy?
