The Prize Money for the French Open 2022
After two years of struggle against the pandemic, the tennis world is finally going back to its normal self. Therefore, the organizers of the French Open have hiked the prize money for the overall event. The overall prize money for this year’s Roland Garros, which will run from 22 May to 5 June, has gone up to 46.6 million euros. A 6.8 percent increase from the year 2019 when the tournament was last held in normal circumstances. Both ATP and WTA singles winners will receive 2.2 million euros each.
Total prize money for the French Open will be €46.6million, an increase of about 6.8% from 2019 the last "normal" edition of Roland Garros. The respective singles champions will claim €2.2million whe first round losers will claim €62000

Further, there will be a 1.43 percent increase in the prize money for the main draw of men’s and women’s singles. And the players in the qualifiers will claim 62,000 euros. For doubles, a hike of 6.1 percent hike is allotted. In addition, this year’s quad wheelchair event’s prize money is brought in line with the wheelchair competition.

Novak walked out of the Australian Open because of his disagreement with the covid regulations. Following that, apart from the Dubai International championship, he missed the entire hard court season for the same reason. However, with things going back to normal, he was given a green ticket to Monte Carlo. Thereafter, he competed in the Serbian Open, where he made it up to the finals. Thus reclaiming his form.
Now that the Serb is in peak form, his fans are expecting him to defend his title at the 2022 French Open. Recently Amelie Mauresmo, the tournament director of Roland Garros, announced that Novak can take part in the tournament. She said, “As things stand, nothing stands in the way of Djokovic taking part in the French Open.”

The 34-year-old is currently testing his luck on the red dirt of Madrid. He will soon be locking horns with The British tennis professional Andy Murray in the third round of the tournament.
