French Open Star’s Father Outrightly Condemns Bizarre Move as Rain Destroys Son’s Hopes Against Grigor Dimitrov

The season’s second Grand Slam tour is leaving the participants visibly disappointed. As the City of Love’s unexpected rain forced many athletes to hold their fate for the moment, Belgian ATP star Zizou Berg‘s father could not wait but express the reality to the fans. As he makes an outburst against the committee, fans wish her son to find that every cloud has a silver lining.

Belgian ATP star Zizou Berg’s father took his X platform to drop his opinion about one of the burning issues of the ongoing Roland Garros tournament in Paris. Berg’s father Koen Berg tweeted- “Strange decision of @rolandgarros to start a match when weather forecast gives only rain. It took almost 1h to get to a score of 3-2 after numerous short breaks. Court was wet, balls heavy & players taking risks (cold) They should have taken an early decision to move the match.”

Zizou Berg’s father also mentioned how they checked the weather through many applications and it all predicted that rain would happen. Despite that, the Roland Garros authority continued his son’s match against Grigor Dimitrov, causing interruptions during the match. He further said– “Weird because we looked at 3 weather apps and they all indicated the same rain. And the RG Weather Manager was permanent on court 14 and in contact with the referee (in translation)” 

Berg’s father here referred to the Belgian ATP star’s match with Grigor Dimitrov on Court 14. While Dimitrov had an advantage in the first two sets pulling 6-3 and 2-1 against Berg, the match got suspended due to the rain. Now Berg’s father’s anger is justified because the authority didn’t reschedule the match even though the weather report suggested otherwise. While the match might give Berg a better chance, it can also kill his motivation. On top of that, this is not their first issue as Sebastian Korda’s girlfriend shared a similar experience a few days back while celebrating Korda’s victory.

Before Zizou Berg’s father brought this issue to the limelight, Korda’s girlfriend Ivana Nedved also revealed something similar to her fans. While she celebrated her boyfriend’s victory against Soonwoo Kwon in Paris, she also mentioned how Korda’s match was halted for two days. “2 days and many more rain showers later”- she wrote on her Instagram Story while sharing Korda’s victory. Nedved’s comment also shed light on the Roland Garros community’s mismanagement.

Nevertheless, Zizou Berg’s father showcases that athletes go through many difficulties if the organizers are not paying attention to such problems. While Paris’s unexpected rain has become an issue, the organizers’ inability to address it has been clearly seen by the fans. Despite everything, fans expect Zizou Berg to hold his breath at the moment and utilize the time to return victorious against Dimitrov.
