The French Open 2022 has entered its second week. Fans have been treated to some eye-catching tennis action over the tournament. While there have been many upsets in the women’s draw, the men’s draw has seen fewer upsets going into the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. One notable absentee from this year’s Grand Slam event in Paris is Roger Federer.

Although Federer isn’t a part of the tournament, his agent, Tony Godsick, is having a memorable one on the personal front.

Nicholas Godsick, son of Federer’s agent Tony Godsick and Mary Joe Fernandez, is playing in the juniors event at Roland Garros. The 17-year-old participated in both boys’ singles and doubles. While he has reached the second round in doubles with partner Henrique Rocha, his singles campaign ended in the first round.

Last month, Godsick revealed the return of Federer later this season. He said, “He’s exactly where he wants to be but unfortunately it takes time. He’s going to play Laver Cup and Swiss Indoors. I don’t want to be the doctor but what I hope for him is to able to have a great rehab this summer, play some in the fall and give a nice shot at 2023, and then see what happens. I haven’t talked to him about that.”

The Swiss maestro hasn’t played a competitive match for over ten months. His last match was at Wimbledon in July 2021, where he lost in the quarterfinals against Hubert Hurkacz. Following this defeat, Federer suffered a knee injury that has kept him out of action.
