In her next story, fans spotted Mariabel sharing a picture of an Instagram Page called Rafa Nadal Museum that gave tribute to the legend with a picture of the young Nadal (his outfit represents his 2005 tour, which also marks his first French Open victory in his career) greeting his older self who has earned 14 trophies in this majestic tennis tournament. Nadal lost this French Open tour’s debut round against Germany’s Alexander Zverev. This Zverev, whom he defeated at the semifinals of the same tour in 2022, retrieved his payback but felt extremely delighted facing off the maestro.

On the other hand, Mariabel (Maria Isabel) Nadal is almost always spotted accompanying her brother on his farewell tours. She and Rafa’s wife Maria Francisca Perello Nadal were spotted teary-eyed seeing the Spaniard coming to terms with his professional tennis life in Madrid. After his defeat to Jiri Lehecka in Madrid’s R16, Nadal dropped his farewell speech leaving the fraternity emotional. The whole Caja Magica celebrated their legendary player as they played Gladiator’s Now We Are Free song resembling the Mallorcan’s indomitable spirit.

The only thing I can say is ‘thank you.’ That’s all I can say. That’s how I feel. It was one of those days that are difficult when they arrive. I think that life and my body have been sending me messages for some time that this day had to come. I’ve been lucky to do it at one of the places that has been the most emotional for me. Thank you”- Nadal said bringing tears to his fans’ and family’s eyes.

While his sister, mother, and wife couldn’t hold back their emotions, funny Nadal said- “That people in my family cry… it’s normal. Even if I had behaved horribly, I suppose they would cry too, because they have a different affection for me than the people around me.” After this comment, fans understood that Nadal’s long career success is a result of his extreme family support too.

While his tennis peers Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Iga Swiatek attended Rafa’s match against Alexander Zverev at the Philippe Chatrier Court thinking it was his last, Rafa bamboozled them with a great surprise. “It’s a big, big chance that it’s going to be my last Roland Garros, But if I have to tell you it’s 100% my last Roland Garros? Sorry, but I will not. Because I cannot predict what’s going on”- said the 14-time French Open winner.

Not only that, but his speech also assured the tour’s director Amelie Mauresmo to cancel the farewell felicitation program that they prepared for Rafa. “He wants to leave the door open for him maybe to come back next year as a player. So we’re not going to push him to do anything. It’s his decision when he wants to have a proper ceremony or proper goodbye and proper farewell. So we’re not going to do it this year”- said Mauresmo. All these statements assured fans that probably, there is a chance to see Rafa on Paris’s clay court next year.

Nevertheless, Mariabel Nadal’s emotional social media post delighted fans’ hearts exposing the support and love she shares for her legendary brother. Now that Rafa has taken a slightly new turn about her farewell, fans along with his sister might have been on cloud nine in happiness.
