Things did not go according to the plans of Alexander Zverev yesterday. The German tennis star battling Rafael Nadal in the semis to enter his maiden French Open final. However, his dreams ended after he was forced to retire midway due to a horrible injury that left the German in agonizing pain on the red dirt of Philippe-Chatrier. During the business end of the second set, the 25-year-old twisted his ankle while trying to make a return. Zverev moved out of the court in a wheelchair, and after a few minutes, he entered the court on crutches to shake hands with Nadal and acknowledge the crowd.
