As Taylor Fritz snatched a victory against Frances Tiafoe to reach his first Grand Slam final at US Open, a revival of US tennis happened. But while their on-court battle was thrilling, one more rivalry is worth noting— the battle of net worth.

But before we get into that, it’s worth noting that Fritz became the first American man to enter a major final since Andy Roddick lost to Roger Federer at Wimbledon in 2009, and the first in New York since Roddick lost to Federer there in 2006. More can be added to this if he can get past Jannik Sinner in the final as he can become the first US man to lift the title since 2003 (Andy Roddick).

Fritz has won eight titles in his career so far, that have helped him bolster his bank balance by quite a bit.

The 26-year-old’s net worth is estimated to be $3 million, which will increase significantly, thanks to his US Open success. As of 2024, Fritz has won $16,646,794 in prize money so far, with his income reportedly doubling since 2019. Notably, he took home a massive cheque of $1 million after defeating Daniil Medvedev at the 2022 Diriyah Tennis Cup, an exhibition event in Saudi Arabia. Not just that, his brand endorsements also have a significant bearing on his net worth!

The star has endorsement deals with major brands like Nike, Hugo Boss, and Rolex, and Australian sports equipment company Head. He currently plays with a HEAD Graphene 360 Radical MP racket. He is one of several men’s tennis stars to be signed with the brand, alongside the likes of Novak Djokovic, Sinner, and Alexander Zverev. Alongside, he usually sports the Nike Air Zoom Vapor X on the court. The list does not end here.

He has also partnered with Optimum Nutrition in 2021 and also has a commercial partnership with Lavazza Coffee. Other prominent Fritz endorsements include Waterdrop and Maestro Dobel Tequila. Notably, he is an investor as well. Fritz has invested in an esports team ReKTGlobal. If we take a look at Taylor’s background, it won’t be wrong to say that he comes from a well-placed family.

His mother Kathy, a tennis player, reached as high as number 10 in the world in 1977, whereas his father Guy was named the professional development coach of the year in 2016. His great-great-grandfather is David May, a renowned American businessman and founder of the May stores. On the contrary, Frances Tiafoe comes from a background that is riddled with struggles. But when it comes to his net worth, Tiafoe’s left his opponent far behind!

The 26-year-old was born to immigrant parents and couldn’t even afford training sessions. His father worked as a construction crew and mother worked as a nurse. But despite that, he was poised to make a statement in the tennis arena and he ensured it with his talent. His biggest career moment came in the 2022 US Open where he defeated Rafael Nadal.

Notably, he had bagged $705,000 prize money for beating the Spanish star. To date, he has earned close to $12 million through prize money, according to ATP Tour’s official website.

As far as net worth is concerned, it stands at $8 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Tiafoe has seen a fair bit of success in the last two years. He has also earned immensely through his brand deals from Nike and Yonex.

As a junior, Tiafoe was sponsored by the German brand Adidas, but since 2016 he has been signed to Nike. He was previously using the Nike Air Zoom tennis shoe but switched to Naomi Osaka’s signature NikeCourt line during the 2022 season. His racket of choice currently is the Yonex VCORE PRO 97 310. Additionally, he has been seen wearing timepieces from luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer in the trophy ceremonies and other events.

Having said that, did you know Taylor Fritz has an interesting consideration while picking his brands?

Taylor Fritz reveals his unique style

Fritz does not wish to make brand deals without a connection with the brand itself. Tennis stars are often seen engaging in deals that give them a lot of fame as well as money. But for Taylor Fritz, building a connection with the brand and their purpose is more important before making a deal.

In an interview, Fritz revealed, “I try to be really specific about what deals I take, and I try to work with partners where either I personally believe in their mission or I enjoy what I’m endorsing.” Continuing further, he also revealed his decision to turn down many offers in the past because he couldn’t connect with the brand.

However, as Fritz gears up to face Jannik Sinner in the final clash, he will be totally focused on the match, as he looks to lift his maiden Grand Slam title in front of the home crowd. “It’s a dream come true. I’m in the final. So I’m going to come out and give everything I can possibly give. I can’t wait,” Fritz said after his semifinal victory.

Indeed, the US audience can not wait as well to bring the US Open title back home. And hopes stakes are high for the 26-year-old, who while growing up, idolized Pete Sampras and Juan Martin Del Potro. His game is a mixup of Pete and Potro, as he has a strong serve from the baseline and a good net game as well. Do you think Taylor can retain his dominance in the US Open final?
