The former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, was present in the Arthur Ashe Stadium to witness the match between Tiafoe and Alcaraz. She was vocal in support of her countryman, often shouting his name after Tiafoe pulled off some spectacular points. Additionally, the two also exchanged thumbs-up on one of the occasions during the match.
During an interview, Tiafoe talked about the most memorable moment from his US Open campaign. He said, “A ton of different emotions obviously, best two weeks of my life but probably the best thing is seeing the [former] first lady Michelle Obama at the match.”
Further, he went on to add, “Yeah like, I was on the one changeover when I looked and she looked at me and I was like going back and forth and then when they announced they’re seeing it crowded up so that was pretty impactful for me.”

Tiafoe pulls out of the Davis Cup
Following his US Open exploits, the American star has pulled out of the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals. The United States of America is placed in Group D alongside the likes of Great Britain, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands.
