With celebs like Kevin Hart and Federer watching, has Tiafoe become tennis's new crowd-puller?

Frances Tiafoe is keeping the American dream alive at the US Open. However, three people are currently making him witness a dream-come-true moment at the US Open. We all know, that the 26-year-old American tennis star has taken the Bulgarian superstar, Grigor Dimitrov, down in the QF of the US Open, and guess what? These three special attendees are currently taking away all the spotlight inside the jam-packed stadium!

Roger Federer, Kevin Hart, and Jason Sudeikis were spotted in the stands, watching Tiafoe’s match at the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium. Federer was spotted in Sabalenka’s match as well and Sudeikis attended Swiatek’s match a few hours ago. So, we can say the focus of the whole world is currently in NY! Stars Galore? Absolutely!

We all are aware of Kevin Hart’s love for the racquet sport. However, do you remember him issuing an open challenge to the Williams sisters to compete against him and his tennis talent on the court? This hilarious incident happened last year, and guess what? Serena Williams even accepted the challenge from the renowned American comedian. Both Hart and Williams have been good friends for a long time. In 2016, they were also seen in a Nike workout event that they jokingly called, “The Hart Serena” workout!

However, the visit of the ‘Ted Lasso’ star Jason Sudeikis was like a bolt from the blue. Even Iga Swiatek was star-struck with his presence during her previous match. Although in the 2013 US Open, he was spotted attending Serena Williams’ match with Olivia Wilde, still this moment was quite fascinating for all the ‘Ted Lasso’ fans.

Swiatek was later heard saying, “I try to avoid looking at the screens. But I saw him tonight when I was looking at the chair umpire. I wanted to stay focused and I hope he appreciates my mentality because this is what Ted Lasso is all about. I hope he enjoys and he’s not working right now on a new series or something.” Now, speaking about the other gigantic presence inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium, well the Swiss Maestro had already promised about this earlier.

Just a few hours ago, Federer gave an interview where he was heard saying, “Went to Wimbledon this year and I’ll go to the Open actually tonight. So I haven’t been back at the Open since I retired. So it’s going to be also I’m sure nice to be in Ashe, you know, watching tennis from the sidelines this time. It’s the first time I would ever do that.” Later on, he was spotted in both Aryna Sabalenka’s and Frances Tiafoe’s match as well.

For those unaware, Tiafoe is a big fan of Roger Federer. He even hailed the Swiss Maestro as the “Michael Jordan of Tennis.” His love and admiration for the tennis legend was revealed when he opened up on the “crazy” scenes that he witnessed during Federer’s emotional farewell at the 2022 Laver Cup. He was a bit emotional seeing all the greats of the tennis world in a single frame crying at the farewell of the Swiss Maestro. Tiafoe said, “Playing him (Federer) was unbelievable. He’s such an inspiration to this game, an unbelievable ambassador we’ve had for 20-plus years. We’re all gonna miss him.”

Frances Tiafoe was one of the four players on the court as the Swiss tennis legend delivered his swansong at the 2022 Laver Cup. He strongly believes, “Roger’s not only a tennis icon, but he’s a sports icon. You tip your hat to a guy like that every day.” Tiafoe believes no one is going to play the game like Federer has done over the years. So effortless yet so elegant!

During an interview with Esquire, Tiafoe said, “It was just dope being able to share the court. If you say you’re not a fan of one of those two, you’re lying.” Seeing him in the stands under the same rooftop of the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium will surely light up the moment for this young American tennis star.
