Every tennis player experiences an unforgettable moment once in their career that they never imagined would be possible. In the same way, tennis star, Andy Roddick talked about his “pinch me” moments in his career and recently made a huge confession regarding the same.
The American tennis player entered the tennis scene at a time when Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi were dominating the tennis court. He has also played some amazing matches against the Swiss master Roger Federer during the course of his lengthy tennis career.
However, the two 90’s era tennis legends had a more deeper impact on Roddick that the Swiss Maestro.

Andy Roddick rewinds his “pinch-me” moment
The 40-year-old former tennis player was recently seen playing in the pickleball slam, and just before the pickleball exhibition, the tennis player was in conversation with The Spun and talked about the future of American tennis. And along with that, he also recalled his “pinch me” moment from his professional tennis career.
Further, he expressed the reason why he wasn’t a fanboy of the Swiss ace, but facing his idols Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi gave him goosebumps.
He said, “For me, my idols were Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras. The first time I was regularly exposed to them, it was a pinch-me moment. That was a huge deal. I don’t know if I was ever as starstruck when I saw Roger Federer because I didn’t watch him growing up like I did Andre.”

Roddick once detailed Federer’s serving style
The former world number one admitted that Federer’s serve was a combination of the serves of two other well-known tennis players in a 2020 interview with Tennis Channel. It also explains why his serve was so excellent.

Agassi, according to him, “messed around with his ball toss and the timing of his serve” as a player, he said. Sampras’ serves, on the other side, were “more strong and had really good placement.” Not only that, he stated how Federer’s serve was a mixture of their serves and how he used his serve as a lethal weapon to dominate the tennis court.
