The Swiss sweetheart organized a surprise for his 280 fans on a lake in the bounty of the serene Alps. The German website, ‘TA Sports,’ reported the event and fans’ experiences in detail. Doris Kording, a fan from Lower Saxony, Germany, shared, “We speculated for a long time what it would be. But it wasn’t until we stood at the jetty in Lucerne that we knew there would be a boat trip.” It was no ordinary boat trip either.

Talking about the boat, Kording revealed, “It said: This is our ship! But Roger doesn’t get on until later. So you don’t have to look for him.” When they boarded the ship, everyone received a baseball cap signed by Federer.” The former World No.1 made his fans feel special as he introduced his parents, Lynette and Robert Federer, to the fan club. The Swiss legend is known for his perfection and attention to intricate details. So, he had the fans informed about the meeting in April so that they could have ample time to prepare for the best day of their lives. The fan club has always maintained a low profile, and in official meetings over the years, cell phones always remained switched off as a ground rule.

The meeting became public knowledge only after Federer posted images on his Instagram. The 20-time Grand Slam champion made time for each fan as he posed for 280 individual pictures taken by a professional photographer. The images would be mailed to the fans, and the Swiss Maestro kept chatting with his beloved extended family, even though he was behind schedule. Being a food lover with an interest in different cuisines, Federer also arranged a pasta buffet for his fans as he spent hours with them.
