There’s no doubt about the fact that artificial intelligence has come a long way, and it still has a long way to go. However, its current avatar isn’t doing too badly when it comes to leaving people awestruck. Midjourney, an AI program that can generate images based on natural language descriptions, recently rose up to a Twitter user’s challenge. The user asked the program to generate images of people based on what it thinks they look like on the basis of their names.

Midjourney provided some unique results, but what caught the eye of Twitter users was the name ‘Roger’ and the corresponding image. Some users were quite sure that the Midjourney version of ‘Roger’ resembled a certain 41-year-old Swiss Maestro.

The Midjourney version of ‘Roger’ was uncannily similar to Roger Federer

When the Twitter user posing the challenge to Midjourney posted the results, the fans were taken aback. The post covered many names, but one of them stood out more than most because of the image that came with it. It was none other than the image of ‘Roger’, which looked like an older version of the 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer, the tennis legend who inspired athletes across numerous sports.

Roger Federer fans couldn’t hide their surprise at the resemblance of the AI-generated image to their favorite tennis player of all time. One user simply stated, “Roger!” along with a tennis ball emoji.

The user also expressed surprise at the images that Midjourney generated, commenting, “roger is literally roger federer”.

One user found the entire GIF post quite stunning as per the comment, “This is amazing.”

Another user also found the post incredible, which came out in the comment, “this is another level”. The comment was followed by a laughing emoji.

Yet another user recognized how the AI image generator had used Roger Federer’s face to create ‘Roger’. The comment stated, “Roger had a lot of tennis data” followed by a laughing and tennis ball emojis. Other users also reacted in a similar way.
