Novak Djokovic is one of the favorites going into the French Open. Currently ranked at no.2, the Serbian tennis player is now more than ever in the limelight since Rafael Nadal withdrew from the French Open. With his archrival out of the tournament, Djokovic is expected to reach the latter stages of Roland Garros and his fans are highly optimistic about him winning the tournament. However, it is not easy to be in the limelight always. People always have regrets about how they could have done things differently. Even celebrity athletes like Novak can feel this way.

In the pre-tournament press conference, the tennis legend revealed his feelings when asked about it.

Novak Djokovic feels things could have been done differently 10 years ago

One of the interviewers asked Novak that he had mentioned that things were different 10 years ago and how he would have done stuff differently before. He continued to ask if there was more pressure on him now for the Grand Slam tournament. Or if that is the reason he is hyper focused to not get involved in a match that would wear him out easily.

To this, Novak responded, “I think obviously there were some big, big matches in my life that I lost that I wish maybe I handled those particular situations a bit differently. That would maybe cause in a different result for me. But I also have won so many matches where I was supposed to lose”.

He continued to mention the match in Wimbledon 2019 against Federer, where he beat him. Also, in the Australian Open 2012, he defeated Rafa. These are the two matches he never thought he would win, but did.

Djokovic’s point of view on having a different perception now and 10 years ago

During the same interview, the tennis star said that he feels that now he is in a different physical state than he was 10 years ago. Not that he would do things differently, but there is always a sense of how things could have been better. However, at the end, he added, “I wouldn’t do things differently because I’m very, you know, proud of my career and everything that I have achieved.”
