Boris Becker faces bankruptcy charges
Southwark crown court heard the charges against the player. He has been accused of concealing assets and what shocked the public was that it included the very same of the 1985 Wimbledon trophy. Other than that, Boris Becker also failed to hand over his other medals and trophies. The player has been further charged with 20 other offenses for hiding his assets so that he does not have to pay any taxes. The judge, Deborah Taylor, has impressed the matter on the jury that it should not treat the player as a celebrity. It should be fair to judge him against the offenses that he has committed.

It is not the first time
This is not the first time that the player has faced charges of bankruptcy. Before this, he had to face charges in the Munich Court. The Munich District Court had found Becker of falsifying his residency between 1991 and 1993 to avoid giving a 3.3 million Deutsche Mark tax bill. After 10 years of this incident, he took residence in London. He has been the former coach of world-renowned player Novak Djokovic. The six-time grand slam champion has denied all charges and has insisted on his innocence. He asserts the fact that he went about it honestly as per the advice given by the experts. He attributed ‘expensive lifestyle commitments’ and ‘expensive divorce’ as the reasons why he could not pay off his debt.
