Former Australian professional tennis player has slammed World No.1, Novak Djokovic, for his contradictory statements about the Davis Cup’s format. Djokovic had talked about revamping the format of the Davis Cup earlier. However, recently the Serb has changed his views on the subject. Djokovic supported the idea of preserving traditions and history.
Following these statements, former Australian tennis player Sam Groth took a dig at Djokovic. According to him, it’s unprofessional to release contradictory statements in such a short period.

Former Australian tennis player criticizes Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic conveyed his opinions on changing the structure of the Davis Cup. However, in a recent interview, he talked about respecting history.
Djokovic stated, “I think you need to respect the tradition and the history, and you need to stick to the things that are recognizable that make this competition so important for the sport. At the same time, you need to move forward and find new ways to improve the competition.”
As soon as the Serb released such contrasting statements, former Australian player, Sam Groth struck back at the World No. 1. Groth was unhappy with such behavior of Novak Djokovic.
” This is not the Davis Cup but the players who are going to turn up are exactly like Novak Djokovic, in my opinion, who spoke up obviously rebutting Lleyton’s [Hewitt’s] comments about the tournament needing a change, it needs to be adjusted and needs to be played in different cities and then the finals in one city,” he said.
