Federer arrived in New York a few days ahead of the grand event and spared some time to visit The Met in the buildup to the event. He posted a video of his experience of the iconic museum on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, the video didn’t take very long to get some incredible reactions, including that of a prominent American actress. The actress was once the wife of one of America’s greatest ever men’s tennis players, John McEnroe.

In Federer’s Instagram video, the Swiss Maestro made his way to the Anna Wintour Costume Center, one of The Met’s most prestigious wings. It is home to the Costume Institute collection. Federer’s visit to the wing was very specific. He wanted to take a look at ‘A Line of Beauty’, which housed some of Karl Lagerfeld’s best designs.

At the time of writing this, the video has amassed over 218,000 likes and plenty of comments as well. Tatum O’Neal, the Academy Award-winning actress and ex-wife of tennis legend John McEnroe, was bowled over by Federer’s class. Her comment went, “❤️❤️❤️❤️😍”.

O’Neal’s comment more or less summed up the feelings of Federer fans. Since Federer announced his involvement in the 2023 Met Gala, his fans have been very chirpy. This came after a dormant period following the legend’s retirement in 2022. And who could blame them?
