Earlier this year, much hype surrounded Rafael Nadal and his exciting comeback. However, it didn’t last long as the Spaniard suffered another injury setback after playing just one tournament. This kept him out of the Australian Open, the season’s first Grand Slam tournament. While Nadal continues to recover from his injury, Roger Federer remains positive about his comeback.

Although Federer and Nadal were strong rivals on the court, they maintained a healthy relationship off the court. Moreover, Federer played with Nadal towards the end of his tennis career and wants to see him rise higher still.

Roger Federer feels Rafael Nadal can come back stronger

As time passes, Rafael Nadal nears his retirement. It is highly unlikely that the Spaniard will continue beyond this season, as a result of which fans are wishing for him to have one last laugh before he retires. Federer is confident about Nadal’s success in his comeback as he made a candid revelation about him. Federer mentioned, “I felt sad for him that he has not been able to play nearly as much or at all to what he wanted to do.”

Further, he went on to add, “I hope that he can do what he wants to do in the summer, because even though I have a good feeling for him, and I know he pulled out of Indian Wells and Doha and all that stuff, but I still am very hopeful that he can get back on the train and ride it.”

Federer and Nadal’s appearance together has been a prized asset for the tennis world. While their emotional picture at the 2022 Laver Cup spread like wildfire on the internet, another photo went viral quickly this year.

Federer and Nadal turn back the clock in Mallorca

Earlier this year, the Spanish tennis legend took to his official Instagram handle to share a picture with Federer. The Swiss maestro visited Nadal’s academy in Mallorca. The two legends were pictured in an interesting discussion at the academy.

Further, in the caption, Nadal thanked Federer for visiting the academy, saying, “Great to have you here with me today my friend.
