Frances Tiafoe is playing some of the best tennis of his career. The American star had an impressive US Open campaign where he reached the semifinals. Further, entering the Laver Cup high on confidence, he made a winning start by defeating Daniil Medvedev in a close encounter. Tiafoe won crucial points in the match tiebreaker to prevail 3-6, 6-4, 10-5. Following his nerve-wracking victory though, the American star made a rather cheeky revelation.
Interestingly, it was Tiafoe’s first victory against Medvedev in six attempts and while boasting about his huge victory, he put himself in the shoes of Federer. During the post-match on-court interview, Tiafoe said, “Midway in the second set and in the tiebreak I felt like I was Roger Federer, honestly.”
