Felix Auger-Aliassime is kicking off 2025 in style—both on and off the court. The Canadian tennis star entered the new year as an engaged man and is already making waves in the tennis world. On Sunday, the 24-year-old battled past Aleksandar Kovačević in a thrilling 6-2, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2) victory to lift his second trophy of the year. With this, he became the first player this season to clinch two titles, just four weeks in. His record now stands at an impressive 10-2 in 2025, following up his Adelaide title with another strong performance. And his fiancée, Nina Ghaibi, couldn’t be happier.!

Auger-Aliassime captured his seventh career title in Montpellier, and it was one he won’t forget anytime soon. The Canadian took to Instagram to share the special moment with his fans. In his caption he wrote, “#7 was one to remember.”

The Canadian tennis player’s fiancée, Ghaibi, an equestrian athlete from Croatia, made sure to celebrate the win as well. She reposted his post on her Instagram story, adding her own words of pride and excitement.

The best…I’ll definitely remember it,” she wrote.

Ghaibi has been a constant presence in Auger-Aliassime’s career, often seen in the stands cheering him on. The couple, who have been together since 2019, announced their engagement last November with a dreamy sunset proposal. Now, as he returns to winning ways, she’s right there with him.

This title means a lot to the former World No.6 who went the entire 2024 season without lifting a single trophy.

Felix-Auger-Aliassime makes an amazing comeback after a title less 2024 season

Once considered a leading star of the Next Gen, his progress had stalled over the past few years. The 24-year-old tennis player had made a remarkable name for himself as he reached the US Open semi-finals in 2022. Injuries and inconsistency saw him drop out of the Top 30, and despite occasional flashes of brilliance, momentum was hard to sustain.

Last May, he reached the Madrid final, showing signs of a breakthrough. But then came the setbacks—early exits at Wimbledon and the US Open, a winless season, and a back injury that forced him out of his final event. It was a frustrating cycle, one that he was eager to break.

The off-season proved to be a turning point. Auger-Aliassime put in the work and entered 2025 with a renewed focus. After his title run in Adelaide last month, he spoke about the process behind his resurgence.

I think the off-season was beneficial for me, and we’ve done some good work, so I trust that we’ll get rewarded,” he said. “If I stay consistent, my ranking will get back up. Right now the focus is really on being consistent with what’s in my control and how well I do my work.”

That consistency is already showing. With his Montpellier victory, the currently ranked World No. 23 now holds seven ATP titles, six of them coming on indoor courts. It’s clear that he thrives in controlled conditions, and he’ll be looking to carry this momentum into next week’s ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam, where he’s a past champion.

The road back to the top won’t be easy, but if his recent performances are any indication, Felix Auger-Aliassime is well on his way. Can he keep this momentum going and turn 2025 into his best season yet?
