On the other hand, Novak Djokovic of the team Europe dropped a worrisome update on his injury after losing his third fixture at the Laver Cup 2022. The former world No. 1 went down to Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (3). During the post-match conference, the Serbian star revealed that he was struggling with an injury to his right wrist.

On Day 2, Djokovic earned two victories for Team Europe earlier in the day. The first was a singles victory over Frances Tiafoe, and the second was a doubles victory alongside Matteo Berrettini over Jack Sock and Alex de Minaur. However, Djokovic was of the opinion that the earlier two matches elevated his wrist injury.?

?You always have to generate a lot of wrist action and speed, which could be the case why I have been feeling soreness of my right wrist.? said the 35-year-old.

He further said, ?I am not worried about my level, but I am a bit about the wrist. I am going to try to take care of it with my physio, to be ready for my first match in Tel Aviv.? The last time Djokovic played was back in July 2022, in the Wimbledon final, where he defeated Nick Kyrgios to win his fourth consecutive title.

Novak Djokovic now has permission to play in upcoming tournaments in several world regions, despite disqualifying him from the North American competition. Amidst his injury concerns, Djokovic revealed the list of tournaments he will be participating in over the next few months.
