After playing 66 matches in this grueling season, Taylor Fritz finally gets the chance to spend some quality time with his kid, Jordan. For those who are unaware, Fritz has a son with former tennis pro, Raquel Pedraza. As per several reports, he married his high school sweetheart, Pedraza in 2016 and they welcomed their first and only child together in January 2017. However, Taylor Fritz and Raquel Pedraza got divorced in December 2019. Previously, during a conversation on Netflix’s Break Point series, he highlighted the unfortunate sides of being a tennis pro, “I have a son that I don’t get to see near as much as I’d like.” Finally, now Fritz got the chance to meet his son!

Taylor Fritz recently uploaded a video clip in which he was seen having a fun time with his son, Jordan. They were seen playing a basketball match inside their room. Who won the indoor basketball match, though? Well, Fritz captioned that IG story saying, “I ended up getting so into it I forgot I was recording and ended up with an over hour of us playing. But for the sake of time, I will just post this clip of the final score in my heartbreaking 21-19 loss to Jordan.“

Fritz has always expressed his desire to create a nurturing and supportive environment for his son. He emphasizes the importance of spending quality time with him, despite his demanding career. The 26-year-old American star is often seen sharing some adorable moments with Jordan on social media, giving fans a glimpse into their father-son bond. For example, in 2020 during Christmas, he shared a photo in which Jordan was seen holding a Hot Wheels set beside the tree. Taylor Fritz captioned that picture saying, “Merry Christmas everyone. Just glad I got to spend it this year with loved ones.” Even in 2021, he posted a similar picture captioning, “Merry Christmas from myself and the big man.“

Then even during the 2018 Indian Wells Masters, Taylor Fritz brought his son along with him for a little post-match socializing with fans. During a conversation with Interview Magazine in 2020, the tennis star spoke about how he used the opportunity during the COVID-19  lockdown to spend some quality time with his son. “I took about a month off to just do nothing. And I felt like I really needed that. I haven’t had time like that in five years. And when I say nothing, I mean that I wasn’t playing tennis or working out. Instead, I spent time being with my son, sleeping in, and playing video games.” Fritz clearly loves spending time with his kid, but what lessons have he learned from being a father?

Taylor Fritz became a father at the age of just 19! With the birth of Jordan, came a huge amount of responsibility. To have that responsibility at such an early stage of his career was always challenging. However, during an interview, Fritz once revealed how his ex-wife helped him to navigate parenthood in the early days. Speaking about Raquel Pedraza, he added, “My life really hasn’t changed too much because of how my wife has really stepped up. She’s really just doing everything she can for me and for my tennis.“

Becoming a father has now taught Taylor Fritz how to balance his personal and professional lives better. Speaking about his lessons from fatherhood during an interview with Haute Living, Fritz said, “I think [having a kid] taught me a lot of lessons about time management. I have to juggle all these different things.” He further added, “It also taught me to not care so much about other people’s opinions. … I was always very concerned about how my career would be affected, the things people were saying, and things of that nature.“

Speaking about his son, Jordan during a previous interview, he said, “He is a remarkable kid and every day he seems to learn something new. He has gotten so much better at tennis and soccer and, of course, that is great. The best part is just spending time with him. I love him and care so much about him. I might be slightly biased, but he is just so damn cool!” There is a good chance that his son might follow in his footsteps one day because tennis runs in their blood! Raquel Pedraza being a player herself, adds more to his chances. Not only that, even Taylor Fritz’s parents, Kathy May and Guy Fritz have experience as tennis professionals.

Jordan also plays a crucial role in motivating his dad to climb up the ladder! Taylor Fritz is now ranked 6th in the world and there was an instance when he revealed that he told his son that he’s not the best tennis player in the world, his son got a little disappointed. Speaking on the same, Fritz stated, “He’s not easily impressed. I guess I just need to keep improving so maybe at one point I can say, ‘Hey Jordan, I’m actually the best in the world.’“ Do you think Taylor Fritz can fulfill his son’s wish in the near future?
