Tennis is a sport that demands professional players to spend a lot of time on the court. The stars have to travel around the world frequently in order to play in championships. Therefore, after retirement, one would assume that players would have a lot of free time on their hands. But Roger Federer does not fall into that category. Being a part of a big family, he now fills his day, fulfilling the wishes of his children.
After he closed the door on his professional tennis life, Federer took up different roles to fill his daily schedule. The biggest one, which he has upheld till now, is being a doting father. He spends as much time as he can with his children and is enjoying it fully.??

The Swiss Maestro might have retired from tennis, but he is still seen partaking in other ventures. He returned for the Laver Cup, this time as an attendee, and shared a glimpse of his life in retirement. While many would assume that he is a man with an open schedule now, Federer stays busy, driving his children around.?
“The days are long. But at the same time, I feel like I don’t have enough time. You know, because I pack my schedule up, four kids will do that to you as well. So, I’m their professional driver nowadays and an organizer and a logistics man. Yeah, it’s definitely a test on a completely different level. There’s a lot going on, I mean, I’m still in the gym, I’m surprised I’m going to the gym.“
In addition to being the chauffeur to his children, Federer also joked about having gained some weight. “I always used to dread the moment of going to the gym, so I do it like 4-5 times a week. Believe it or not, I don’t look the part.?I’m a little heavier now unfortunately, I’m working on that right now. I’m on a diet.“?

But, this is not the only time Federer has shown that he is a doting father to his children.?

The Swiss Maestro upholding fatherly duties
Seven months after his retirement, the 20-time grand slam champion interviewed with Vogue prior to his appearance at the Met Gala. The Swiss Maestro stated that it felt good to be home more often than having to pack and unpack constantly. While he does miss that part of his life, he feels immense joy while spending more time with his children. Additionally, weekend trips with family are another aspect he is enjoying even more.

The former number 1 dedicated over two decades of his life to tennis and did not take his foot off the gas. But now that he has retired, he is enjoying other aspects of his life more. As time goes on, we will learn more about how he spends time with his children.
