When Carlos Alcaraz won his first-ever Major in 2022, he celebrated the feat by inking the date of his victory on his body. But it was just the beginning of a post-win ritual at the Grand Slams. In the last two years, the former World No.1 and four-time Grand Slam winner has continued this tradition. But one person is definitely not pleased with his ways of celebration – Carlos’ father. However, the Spaniard is already thinking to add one more after the Australian Open in 2025 – but he’s also vary of his father’s reaction!
For the unversed, Carlos has got two tattoos as of now. On his arm, there’s a date mentioned “11.09.22”. It signifies his day of scripting history at the US Open in 2022 when he beat Casper Ruud to win his first Grand Slam trophy. The next tattoo is inked on his leg, with the date of “16.07.23” commemorating his 2023 Wimbledon win over Novak Djokovic. This year, he went on to grab two more majors. In June, he clinched his first-ever Roland Garros title, defeating Alexander Zverev. Then at the Wimbledon, he outperformed Djokovic, yet again, and took the match to win his second-consecutive Wimbledon trophy. However, he didn’t have any of these two victories tattooed in any way – but it doesn’t mean he won’t.
In an interaction with Cope, dated December 12, Carlos revealed that his father isn’t a fan of his tattoos. He had only allowed him to have them upon his maiden Grand Slam wins. But the former World No.1 doesn’t agree and now he wants more of them. “I am a very ambitious boy and I want more and Australia is what I want to tattoo, although my father does not like it very much,” he said. “Being champion there is my main objective for next season,” he added while expressing his determination to make it big in Australia. Out of all the four Grand Slams, it’s the only one Alcaraz hasn’t won yet.

Additionally, he also revealed how, despite tennis being an individual sport, there’s always a team behind him. It involves “people who encourage me day by day,” he said while referring to his support staff and family members. Meanwhile, he’s already begun preparing for the first major event of next season.
Carlos Alcaraz to have a crucial training session with coach ahead of the Australian Open
Earlier this year, Carlos couldn’t do much in Australia. Despite reaching the QF round, he failed to move forward after losing to Alexander Zverev; the German beat him 6-1, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. This time, Carlos wants to put all his efforts in winning his first title Down Under. For this purpose, he’s planned out his training schedule with coach Juan Ferrero.

Carlos Alcaraz will have four weeks of preseason training at the Ferrero Tennis Academy. He will train alongside Jack Draper and Flavio Cobolli. After that, he will head to Australia to participate in the Grand Slam. His intention and goal are very clear, as revealed by him in a press conference. During an exhibition event a few days back, he expressed his hunger to win in Australia, no matter what. “I’m sure I’ll be the Australian champion sooner or later. Let’s hope it happens this year,” he said. Upon doing so, he will also complete his Career Slam by winning all four majors.
Additionally, he will also look to regain the No.1 spot in the ATP rankings in 2025. Currently, Jannik Sinner is leading the list, but the Spaniard would like to dethrone him sooner than later.
