Holger Rune who caught the spotlight because of his partnership with the legendary tennis coach Boris Becker, revealed that he truly values his reputation and his state of mind. Talking about being proud of the positive reputation that he earned for himself, the young star also shared his thoughts about Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic.

Despite the common advice that one should be able to accept defeats positively, the 20-year-old admitted that he still struggles with it. As per tennisworldusa.org, he mentioned, “I like my state of mind, I’m a fighter, everyone says it, it’s a good reputation. It’s fun. For me it’s still a problem to accept losing. Everyone says you have to be able to accept the defeats. When I lose a match I’m sad and angry, it’s normal.”

Along with sharing his inner thoughts, the Dane also revealed his support system from the tennis community. He said, “But I have many friends in the locker room. I’ve known Carlos Alcaraz well since we were younger, Novak Djokovic is incredibly kind, he helped me a lot. There are a lot of great guys on the circuit. I never had problems. There is a lot of jealousy in life, that’s all I can say.”

Not only Rune but the Serb also talked about their friendship. Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune share a special bond both on and off the tennis court. The 24-time Grand Slam champion revealed, “We get along really well. Good friends off the court. Of course on the court, competitors. I played him only once… good battle, four sets. He has improved a lot. Physically, he’s a fit guy. He’s young so not much to lose.”
