“I think an athlete’s journey is emotional, but I think also seeing the beautiful friendships that we create, the bonds, and then – through rivalry – they can be quite unbreakable actually,” Roger Federer said, upon the release of his documentary. Being chosen for a film is nothing less than an achievement as it takes a big and bold story to be converted into a film. Alcaraz’s achievements in 2024 turned out to be historic. He began his dominance at the Indian Wells Masters, also known as the “fifth Grand Slam.” The Spaniard took down Daniil Medvedev in the final. This momentum continued to exist at the French Open in June, where he claimed his first Roland Garros title. After a tough semi-final against Jannik Sinner, he secured another massive victory over Alexander Zverev in the final to finally clinch the dream title.
Alcaraz made history again in July by adding another Wimbledon title to his portfolio. He defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets along with achieving the rare “Channel Slam” by claiming both Wimbledon and the French Open in the same year. He added another feat by triumphing at the China Open after a hard-fought final against Jannik Sinner. Netflix cameras followed Alcaraz to every tournament. Now, with all summed up, there is a documentary coming up.
