Hubi, after his win, was flooded with multiple questions: mostly about his thoughts during the match and how he feels. However, one question seemed to intrigue the champion quite a bit. The question was about how this tournament had been won by some of the greatest in tennis, namely legends like Djokovic, Federer, and Murray. Basically, hinting at how cool does he feel to be part of that list?”

While answering this question, Hurkacz kept his focus on Federer. He said, “It’s really cool. Hurkacz forgets to mention Roger Federer

Like a new kid in school, Hurkacz addressed his “grave mistake” of not mentioning Federer in his victory speech. It is quite funny how much respect Hubi holds for him. He says: “In my speech, I was, like, trying to thank everyone. I forgot to mention Roger, thanks for coming, so, yeah, sorry for that.”

He also expressed his fear regarding this subject and hoped Federer didn’t take that omission personally. He said, Hopefully, he won’t take it personally (smiling), but definitely, you know, fun to play in front of him.”
