During one of his recent appearances in The ATP Tennis Radio Podcast, the former Austrian tennis star Jurgen Melzer reflected on a long and successful career that saw him compete at the highest level in both singles and doubles.
While recounting the highlights of his career, Melzer went on to shed some light on his unimaginable record involving Novak Djokovic. He said, ?Well, up to today, actually, I’m still the only guy to beat Novak from being two sets to love down, and it’s still getting a lot of tweets once Novak is two sets to love up, and he loses his third set. I have a lot of mentions done.?
The 41-year-old Austrian further said, ?The last player who did, or the only player who did… It’s great, and it’s for me. For Novak, it was probably one match, but for me, it’s the match. And I just realized also after that match, like, okay, I can beat those guys. I can compete with them. Maybe not on an everyday basis. But on a good day, I’m able to beat those guys.?

Talking about Jurgen Melzer?s record, it was back in 2010 when he defeated Djokovic at the French Open after losing the first two sets. The final score was 36 26 62 76 64 in favor of the Austrian. To this day, no one else has come back from two sets down to beat Djokovic. An impressive feat indeed.
