There is no doubt that the American tennis star, Taylor Fritz, is one of the most talented youngsters on the men’s circuit given his remarkable achievements. While keeping up his on-court endeavors, the former world No. 5 player has also turned his focus on popularizing the sport all across the globe. In this campaign, he is accompanied by other young tennis stars like Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul.

However, when it comes to the older generation on the ATP Tour including the likes of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer, Fritz believes that they have never really cared about the same.

The American tennis star is currently there at the Hard Rock Stadium, outclassing some of the talented players in the initial rounds of the Miami Open. Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz was featured in a press conference in which he opened up about his goal of promoting the growth of tennis in the entire sporting realm. Speaking of it, he said that it’s always been his desire to make the sport more popular outside of hardcore tennis fans.

Later, the former world No. 5 player was asked if that’s a common objective for other players from his generation. Other young tennis stars like Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul are also involved in the same endeavors. So, Fritz said it’s much more of a thing in their generation only as the older generation solely focused on their game.

He said, “I think that maybe the older generation, they just played, and it was what it was. I don’t think they really cared too much about, I guess, the popularity of it.”

However, Fritz added that there is nothing wrong with the players only focusing on their on-court endeavors. The young American tennis stars, on the other hand, are using their platforms to grow the sport and entice more fans into it.

Fritz has often used his platform to address the same matter

This is not the first time that the current world No. 10 player is revealing his desire to promote the growth of tennis. Fritz, who was featured in the Netflix tennis documentary “Break Point,” previously detailed how he saw that show as a great opportunity to popularize the sport.

Speaking of it, the American ATP player said the tennis web series can bring in a lot of viewership as more fans will get to know about the game.
