Christopher Eubanks and Frances Tiafoe have become the faces of US men’s tennis recently. Their aggressive playing style and consistent results have attracted several Americans to watch and support them. The two compatriots also happen to be really good friends and go way back. However, even the closest of friendships can have a falling out.

Similarly, Tiafoe and Eubanks had a fallout, albeit very mild. The former was asked about the happening of this event recently. Well, Tiafoe had no chance but to answer the question. He cleared the air and revealed what had happened during their two meetings. Curious to know what happened between the two friends? Let’s hear from Tiafoe himself.

Frances Tiafoe clears the air on his past feud with Christopher Eubanks

Tiafoe and Eubanks had locked horns at the US Open 2021 for the first time. It was a highly competitive battle ending in a four-set victory for the former. The crowd was involved, both played some lights-out tennis and tried to get support from the audience at the same time. But, the handshake at the net was not quite friendly.

But, Tiafoe assures that it was a one-off. When they met in the Citi Open the following year, they warmed up again. Tiafoe said in a press conference, “I told him he was a top-100 guy. That’s why I repeated it a couple of times because he was walking away (smiling). But, yeah, so when we played here in D.C. last year, he made sure to give me a good handshake.

Tiafoe ended his story with a sarcastic comment. He said, “Yeah, hopefully, I don’t play him anytime soon.“, to signify Eubanks’ current improved level.

The duo get along extremely well now. They have acknowledged each other often on social media, especially during Eubanks’ famous Wimbledon run this year.

Tiafoe lauds Eubanks for his glorious Wimbledon run

Christopher Eubanks broke the headlines during this year’s Wimbledon. He took down two top 15 players on his route to the Wimbledon quarter-finals. Plenty of big tennis names congratulated Eubanks for his achievement. But, Tiafoe’s message was a standout. He took to his Instagram story and motivated Eubanks for the next round at Wimbledon. It was a wholesome gesture from Tiafoe as he expressed admiration for his friend.
