Matteo Berrettini in an interview surprised his fans by dropping an almost unbelievable response while talking about his fashion and other things. When the interviewer asked him whether he had seen the famous movie Challengers, Berrettini made his fans’ jaws drop with his answer. “Actually I haven’t. Everybody’s talking about it. It’s not that I don’t want to watch it, I just haven’t had the time to open my laptop recently. Other tennis players have seen it and said that it has some great actors, but I honestly don’t know anything about it”- said the Italian ATP star.

Berretini is prepping up for his next tournament. This Italian tennis player was a runner-up at 2021 Wimbledon. Last year, he had to exit from the tournament after Carlos Alcaraz defeated him by 6-3, 3-6, 3-6, and 3-6 in the Round of 16. In 2022, Berrettini’s luck didn’t permit as he had to withdraw from the tour after testing positive for Covid-19. Now, following a recent social media post, Berrettini has confirmed his presence at the Wimbledon tournament. “It’s not the season I wanted on clay. But I feel confident and positive about the season on grass,” Before that, Berrettini is all set to see his skills in the Stuttgart Open tournament.

Berrettini’s comment went further as he mentioned that he would play the Stuttgart tournament first and then would watch the movie. This intrigued Berrettini’s fans as they could sense the happiness of the Italian ATP star on attending a major tour that offers his favorite surface to play. This Italian ATP star has suffered a lot physically since he rolled his ankles at a match in the US Open Tour 2023, against Arthur Rinderknech. Berrettini had to retire from the match’s second set and after that, he couldn’t attend any major tour. Although Berrettini won the Grand Prix Hassan II’s 2024 finals against Carballes Baena and reached the Stuttgart Open 2024’s finals against Lorenzo Mussetti, he couldn’t take part in the Australian Open and French Open.

Speaking about his challenges, Berrettini recalled how long gaps impact players’ forms as continuous tournaments help them to improve. “The toughest thing, when you’re injured, is that when you don’t play matches for a long time you have to get used to them again. It seems [obvious], but it doesn’t matter how many practice sets you play beforehand, the rhythm of the match is something different, Being able to play a long time without getting distracted by everything that’s going on and all the thoughts that you have… it’s pretty tiring and it’s not easy.”- he said.

However, he feels that Stuttgart is like his home and he feels great whenever he returns here. Not to forget, Berrettini won the Stuttgart Open tour in 2021 and 2022.  Matteo Berretini’s statement sheds light on the practical problems of the athletes.
